Useful Tips |

| Driving here is a very good plan, a lot tof the areas do not have public transport, the roads are very well kept and the other drivers are polite. Be careful if you are driving in the rain as the roads can get slippery. If you want to bring your own car into Larnaca, you can do so but only for three months at a time. Provided the car has a valid registration license from its country of origin. |

| Next time (and there will be a next time or more) I will definitely book my car in advance. Trying to arrange the car upon arrival was somewhat frustrating as the swarms of other holiday makers all had the same idea, besides for the fact that upon investigation I have found that you can save quite a bit by booking in advance. There is sooo much to see and once you have your car, Southern Cyprus is your oyster - and a very tasty one at that! |

| Well this was one of the most pleasant places on earth to drive in, the roads are not very busy and the other drivers polite, I would suggest to anyone to hire a car whilst in Larnaca, it is most definatly the best way to see this pretty little place. |
Larnaca Overview |
Situated in the south east of Cyprus, Larnaca is a wonderful seaside resort. Many people pass through Larnaca because it is home to an international airport but more and more tourists are choosing it as their holiday resort.
Larnaca has much to offer visitors with wonderful beaches, lively nightlife, some excellent historical attractions and of course the marvellous Cyprian weather. The seafront is lined with great bars and restaurants but if you can pull yourself away from this area, Larnaca has some excellent attractions including Larnaca Fort and ancient ruins. |

Larnaca Essentials |
Larnaca Bay – The bay of Larnaca is where most tourists spend most of their time. Alongside the beautiful stretches of sand there are myriad of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops of varying nature.
Agia Faneromeni Church – This magnificent 8th century BC church was built over a rock cave and must not be missed.
Church of Panayia Angeloktisti – The name of this church means ‘built by the angels’, and it is so beautiful you can almost believe it. The church’s main draw is its 6th century life size mosaic of the Virgin Mary and Child.
Khirokitia – This is the remains of one of the earliest settlements in the country, the ruins date back to 5800BC.
Larnaca Fort – This 14th century fort is one of Larnaca’s most popular attractions. It was built to protect Larnaca from invaders and offers some fascinating sights. |

Larnaca Calendar - Pick of the Year's Events |
Kataklysmos (16th June) – This Christian festival of food is celebrated all over the island, but the best place to be is Larnaca which has fairs and water sports on the promenade.
Larnaca Summer Festival (July) – Every July this fine cultural festival features excellent performances from bands and theatre groups. |
